Finished Winter quarter with B, B, and B+, evening out to a 3.1 GPA, woo. Next quarter, my classes are thus:

Decline & Fall of the Roman Empire
Hellenic Philosophy (+ discussion)
Sophmore/Junior Philosophy Seminar
Exploring the World of DC and Marvel Comics from the Past to Now

THAT EXPLORING DC & MARVEL COMICS CLASS AAAHHHH. It's one of the student-led and student created courses that they do every Spring quarter, and there was also a Harry Potter one where you read Deathly Hallows all quarter and discuss it. I'm so fucking tempted to add it as well (they're all 1 unit, satisfactory/no credit), but that would put me in classes back to back from 10am to 3pm on Tuesdays and it would be a bit too much.

Not much else has been going on, otherwise. I got a job on campus in the Undergrad Admissions office as a Transfer Link Mentor, which means I go to transfer fairs at various community colleges around SoCal. I'll get a couple done this Spring, then Fall is when the majority of them happen. I'm still looking for another part time job, because we won't be doing anything in the summer at all.

I'm such a boring person lately. And I'm so bored. I was done last Tuesday and won't have classes again until next Monday. WHAT THE FUCK DO I DO ALL DAY? At this point I'm really just sleeping in until noon, then I kind of stare at the computer and watch stuff and RP and go for walks.

Oh, I'm walking now! I'm slowly building up my endurance and I did 5.2 miles today, which was exciting. I don't know when I'll start translating that to jogging (if ever??) but I feel good about it. I'm also doing body strength exercises two or three days a week, though I've been slack this last week because I've suffered from terrible allergies for literally seven days in a row. They're abating a little now, or I've at least found a drug cocktail that works.

I just remembered I have mint chocolate chip ice cream in the freezer, aww yes.

Family stuff.Collapse )

In other news, not much is going on. Our rent goes up $65 in March. The new quarter started last week.

My classes this time are The Roman Empire, Ancient Greece up to Alexander (both History), 20th Century Continental Philosophy, and a College Success class since I didn't do as well as I wanted last quarter and the adjustment from community college to university has been tough. At least my friend Tina and I have a same break in our schedules once a week to have lunch on campus, which we did all last quarter and it was great.

Jess and her boyfriend broke up yesterday, and it's been two full days of her crying and being depressed, and it's been so hard to see her like this. They were together for one and half years and she's fucking devastated. It makes me grateful I've got Jordan and we have such a healthy relationship.

Speaking of Jordan, our FIVE YEAR anniversary is this May. Also, I'll be turning 30 in April. Life is just fucking weird sometimes.
